Effects of Ethanol leaf extracts of Mangifera indica and Gongronama latifolium on some Haematological Parameters of Albino Wistar Rats

The effects of ethanol leaf extracts Mangifera indica and Gongronema latifolium on some haematological parameters (Haematocrit, HCT; Mean corpuscular Haemoglobin concentration, MCHC; Neutrophils, NEUT; Red cell Distribution width, RDW; mixed blood count, MXD) in albino wistar rats were evaluated. Sixteen animals (185-223g) assigned four groups each. Groups 1 3 treated with 200mg/kg Gongronama respectively.
 Group 2 was both plant at 50:50 dosage ratio. 4 not served as control. Treatment done daily via oral route for one month. allowed free access to commercial rat mash water throughout month treatment. At the end treatment, no significant difference (P>0.05) found HCT, MCHC MXD levels all treatment when compared No also among groups. NEUT 1,2 recorded increase (P<0.05) control but, observed RDW decrease control, but different These results implied that Gongonema have adverse indices studied.
